Yes, every cloud has a silver lining, they say… but finding one isn’t always easy. When you do find that silver lining, it means you’ve discovered the best part of something. This Silver Lining basket signifies that bit of silver lining always present among the blues, and in this case, easy to find in two coiled rows of pine needles solid wrapped with waxed metallic silver thread. The rest are stitched with varying shades of blue in waxed Linhasita thread. The stitches include soild wrap, ti, half diamond, reverse ti, (Carlson Combo) and fern with fagot stitching in the two open portals forming the rim that creates an oval shape. The center is a silver filigree cabochon Western Style on turquoise set in resin, made by ArtGalStudios. The basket’s metal ID tag, with artist’s engraved initials, year, and number is attached with a glass crow bead and silver Tibetan metal cone bead.

Coiled pine needle creations are gifts from nature coiled with bundles of pine needles harvested after they’ve naturally fallen to the ground, and hand stitched with various waxed cords or threads.   • Care Recommendations
    Avoid fully immersing in water. Subsequent drying and contraction of water-soaked and swelled needles may loosen stitches.
  • Avoid direct sunlight: it could potentially damage organic materials or unevenly fade dyed elements used in your basket.
  • Gently remove dust with a soft paintbrush, or use a can of compressed air. Lightly wipe baskets with a damp cloth using cold water (without fully immersing in water).
  • Do not place in a microwave oven: metal parts may have been used in construction, and threads are coated with wax—it’s non-toxic, yet, could melt when exposed to heat.
  • Baskets are food safe, but to ensure ease of cleaning and their longevity, it is advisable to keep food separated from basket interiors with a cloth napkin or similar protection.
